Compact Sewage Treatment Plants


Water treatment plant is used for treating domestic sewage generated in industries including canteen waste. The water is treated to make it fit for irrigation and floor washing purposes etc. The plant is designed on basis of effluent generated per day. There are three principal stages in water purification by this plant:- 

Primary Treatment 

Collecting and screening including pumping from rivers and initial storage. This treatment includes:

Secondary Treatment 

Removal of fine solids and the majority of contaminants using filters, coagulation, flocculation and membranes. This treatment includes:

  • Coagulation and flocculation
  • Sedimentation
  • Filtration
  • Slow Sand Filters
  • Ultrafiltration Membranes
  • pH adjustment
Tertiary Treatment 

Polishing, pH adjustment, carbon treatment to remove taste and smells, disinfection, and temporary storage to allow the disinfecting agent to work.
